(G) GrAssign - Parametric Graphs without a Grapher
Make sure you worked through slide #3's examples (See below).
The steps to complete this assignment can be found in the answer keys for Examples 1 and 2. (see below)
The slide's instructions are attached below - DESMOS Example
~ Graph the curves defined by the parametric equations by hand
(no calculator, nor Desmos):
1. x(t) = t - 1 y(t) = 2t + 4 -3 ≤ t ≤ 2
2. x(t) = t2 + 3 y(t) = 2t + 1 -2 ≤ t ≤ 3
3. x(t) = t2 + t y(t) = 2t - 1 -1 ≤ t ≤ 1
4. x(t) = sqrt(2t + 4) y (t) =2t + 1 -2 ≤ t ≤ 6
~ Using the domain for t, set up a table of values for t, x, and y.
~ On a sheet of graph paper, graph the equation by hand.
(If you don't have graph paper, click on the link, download,
and print the graph paper. It's free. Graph paper)
~ Identify the t values for each point on the graph.
~ Identify the domain (t values) and range (x and y values).
~ Identify the coordinates of the endpoints.
~ Indicate the direction of the graph with arrows.
~ Record your work on the provided document: Right --->
~ You can use Notability to record your work on the above doc.
~ Do not use Desmos or your grapher - this should be freehand.
~ Upload your work in Google Classroom.
~ Save doc as ParGrWk_LastName
~ Save graphs as ParGr_LastName
~ Point value: 20 pts
Include the following on the graph paper:
"I pledge my honor, I will not violate Nazareth's Honor Code during this test."
